It’s not just a place, it’s an experience. 

My husband, Vinnie and myself (Louise) are lifelong residents of Eden, NY and love to showcase this beautiful area we live in.  The rural countryside of New Oregon is a jewel and the center of the world in some eyes!

vince & meWe bought the former country church  St Mary’s in July 2007 when it closed after 150 years in operation.  The former rectory was unoccupied since 1980 so our efforts began there.  We tore down walls, put in new septic systems, water treatment, electrical, made curtains, refinished furniture and even made beds from the church pew benches.  We’ve reused and recycled anything that could be transitioned to another use.  It was opened for business on Valentine’s Day in 2008 as the Artisan Inn at Marienthal.

The following year we opened the former convent, now the Brick House Lodge.  The church building was opened in November 2012 as a banquet hall.

Vince is our entertainment, fulfilling his dream of being a stand up comic.  He is sure to tell a joke or two at breakfast.  I am the frustrated artist I suppose and now that the place is decorated and the walls are full of paintings, I use our breakfast as my creative outlet.  I enjoy using local produce, eggs & meats and delight in surprising our guests with a breakfast dessert!

You must be 21 years of age to rent a room

Deposit and Fees
A deposit equivalent to one night rental with tax is required and is charged to your credit card upon booking. If cancellation is received on the scheduled day of arrival, the full deposit will be kept. All room rates are for double occupancy. For additional occupants in rooms in the Artisan Inn, an additional charge of $25 will be assessed. Additional fees may apply for private parties. The Brick House is rented as one unit and can accommodate up to 10 guests. All reservations require a credit card on file to hold. Rates may or may not include breakfast, according to the agreement set between the renter and Marienthal Country Inn. These policies do not apply to reservations in the banquet hall. There is a separate agreement for the rental of the banquet hall.

Marienthal is a small property where every guest reservation made is important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your individual room reservation in the Artisan Inn, please call us at least seven (7) days* prior to your scheduled arrival date for a cheerful refund of your deposit less a $25.00 processing fee. In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than seven (7)* days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a refund will be made less the $25 processing fee. Exception is made if a group reservation, then a thirty (30) day notice is required. Gift Certificates or coupons are treated the same. (*Holiday weekends require a 2 week cancellation notice)
 In case of government pandemic restrictions cancellation fee will be waived.

Check In
Check in time is between 3 and 6 pm. Check out time is by 11am. Special arrangements can be made for other times. Holidays may have special hours.

If any common area is used including but not limited to kitchens, dining rooms, living room, lounge area, outdoor spaces, work spaces, cleanup of the area is expected. If you wish for us to clean up the area, a cleaning fee of $150.00 will be assessed. Special arrangements may be made to use the kitchen with prior notice. Additional charges may apply for any cleaning or damages incurred by guest(s) over and above normal usage.
Turndown Service
In respect of your privacy, turndown service is offered only at your request. In respect of our environment, towels are changed after every two (2) days and after each guest checkout. Please advise the innkeepers if you require fresh linens or towels before this time.
Smoking indoors is not permitted. If you smoke in indoors, you agree to pay a cleaning fee of $150.00 which will be assessed to your credit card.

We regret that we cannot accommodate pets.
You accept complete responsibility for any injury resulting from use of any items of Marienthal’ s, including but not limited to pots and pans, stoves, dishware, silverware, bicycles, hot tubs, grills, stoves, fire pits. You assume any risk or injury resulting from hiking, walking the creek, tripping on stones on the property. You assume the responsibility to notify the host of any food allergies.
You assume any risk or injury in participating in any workshop or class. You have the right to refuse any direction given by any instructor.
By placing your deposit for your reservation, you accept the above policies.
